My name is Richard, and I run Embroidered Dad Hats. The short version is: I make designs, digitize them, load the hat on the machine, embroider each order, and ship it straight to you.
The full story goes back to 2017 when I bought an embroidery machine on eBay for $400. It came with a ton of thread and accessories (definitely an impulse buy). At first, I just wanted to make some cool patches for myself, friends, and family. But it didn’t really go anywhere because I had no idea what I was doing. Learning embroidery from scratch was harder than I expected. After a couple of months of failed attempts, even with simple designs... I gave up.
About a year later, I gave it another try and made a Rick patch. It wasn’t perfect, but it blew my mind that I could create almost anything I wanted on fabric. That moment changed everything. I started an online shop, and being able to design based on my interests and turn those ideas into embroidered pieces has been incredibly rewarding.
Customer service has always been my #1 priority, and I honestly believe that’s a big reason I’m still doing this. I’m super grateful for everyone who’s taken a chance and placed an order with me.
